Projects
I am deeply involved in research exploring the educational potential of XR technologies, where I design experimental studies to investigate students' experiences with VR and Metaverse-based learning applications. In addition, I coordinate projects on avatar-mediated communication, focusing on emotional responses, the uncanny valley effect, source credibility, and self-disclosure. I am also collaborating on well-being projects, including self-compassion training and character strength development, both with and without the use of technology.
Metaversity Project
UX Researcher
I am proudly part of the Metaversity Project research team at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore Milano, where XR educational experiences, known as Metalabs, are being integrated. My role is to build experimental designs to investigate student's experiences and attitudes towards the use of VR and Metaverse-based applications for learning.
Avatar-mediated communication
Experimental Psychology Researcher
I am engaged in and coordinating several research projects focused on avatar-mediated communication, investigating dynamic aspects, such as how emotional responses are shaped by interactions with avatars, the influence of the uncanny valley effect, the perceived credibility of avatars, and the role of self-disclosure in these mediated interactions. These projects aim to deepen our understanding of the psychological and communicative dimensions of avatar use in digital environments.
Positive Psychology & Technology
Experimental Psychology Researcher
I am actively collaborating on several projects that explore innovative approaches to enhancing well-being. These initiatives include developing self-compassion training programs and emphasizing the cultivation of character strengths. The projects aim to investigate the effectiveness of these approaches both with and without the integration of technology, providing a comprehensive view of how digital tools can support personal growth and well-being.
